Mike brings over 23 years of investment management experience to clients.
Prior to this role, Mike served as a managing director and head of the investment solutions division for CIBC Private Wealth. In addition to his executive role, Mike oversaw the investment research and investment product offering for CIBC Wood Gundy nationally.
Mike is a CFA charter holder and a graduate of the MBA program at McMaster University.
On the weekends, Mike prefers to be outdoors and spends his free time at the lake in Northern Ontario with his wife, Pam, and their three children.
Marc Gagnon, CIM®, CFP®, RRC

Marc has been in financial services for 25 years. He brings extensive experience in both financial planning and investment planning with CIBC Private Banking clients.
Marc received both a Bachelor in Business Administration degree and an MBA from York University, and received the Financial Executive Institute’s medal for academic standing. He also holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, for which he made the President’s List. He is Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC) and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).
Marc lives in midtown Toronto and can be found enjoying most weekends in Haliburton with his partner, Laurie. Between them, they have four kids and one needy Golden Doodle.
Stephen Tonelli, CFA

Stephen joined CIBC in 2014 after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph. He is a registered professional and has earned the CFA Charter awarded by the CFA Institute.
Stephen began his career supporting and advising clients in retail banking. Following that, he spent six years in different roles within head office supporting wealth management executives.
Away from the office, Stephen enjoys an active lifestyle spending much of his time outdoors with friends and family. He’s an avid golfer, skier and cyclist. When he’s not on the move, he follows Toronto’s professional sports teams and golf.
Wesley Martin, CIM®
Client Associate
Wes joined the team in 2018.
Wes graduated from the University of Guelph in 2018 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in economics and finance. For a cultural education, Wes travelled throughout Europe and Southeast Asia for a few months before jumping into the world of finance and investing.
He is now an industry-registered professional, holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, and is pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation as a level II candidate in the CFA Program.
In his spare time, Wes enjoys cycling, golf and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Nicole Ferreira

Nicole joins the team from a competitor financial institution where she spent the past five years in customer service and team leadership roles. Prior to that, she held client-facing roles in an entrepreneurial environment.
Nicole is married and has a young daughter. Her busy weekends are filled with various family activities.

Throughout his career, he has advised clients in many areas of financial planning including investments, retirement, tax and estate planning. In addition, Mark has held a variety of leadership roles focused on the development and training of financial advisors.
As Executive Director & Regional Head of CIBC Private Wealth Management for the GTA and Southern Ontario, he leads an integrated team of advisors, investment counsellors and trust managers who assist high-net-worth clients in growing, preserving and transitioning their wealth.

Trevor has over 20 years of mid-market mergers & acquisition ("M&A") experience. His expertise is in the sale of privately-owned companies. Trevor has worked on behalf of many business owners to find strategic buyers or equity investors and negotiated the sale of all or a portion of the company.
These transactions have covered a wide range of sectors and industries including Manufacturing (equipment, consumer goods, concrete, food processing), Business Services (healthcare, equipment rental, telecom, testing/inspection, certification, transportation and logistics), Distribution (capital equipment, steel and fuel) and Technology (software).
Prior to joining CIBC in 2002, Trevor worked for 12 years with the corporate finance and audit groups of an international accounting and consulting firm in Canada and the U.K. and is a Chartered Accountant.

Ian de Verteuil has close to 30 years of experience on the buy- and sell-side of the investment business. He started with a Canadian equities and debt securities dealer in 1987, and over his career as an equity analyst covered a variety of sectors.
Based on external surveys, Ian ranked as Canada's best analyst in Banking, Insurance, Consumer Products, Breweries and Distilleries at various times over a 20-year period.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from McGill University and an MBA from Western University.
